Our personal approach into multiple intelligences.
We treated last week the multiple intelligences and got
introduced with new terminologies regarding this classification. There were a
variety of intelligences referring to the lecture. We went into details when
explaining the intelligences and their peculiarities.
In principle intelligences compressed the competence we have
into different fields and also our interests regarding areas of studies that
can be learned in an autodidact way or someone else can explicitly provide us
throughout different means, like motivating us into these areas and
facilitating the learning in such a way that can be encouraging and stimulating
for the brain and easily catchy to be dealt with.
However, let me share with you my personal thought regarding
intelligence as a concept.
When I think about intelligence, I do visualize ’big heads’
like those representatives of the great inventions that have reached a lot in
their lives and also left a trace in history and their predecessors. However
though, intelligence for me is not restricted only into them, intelligence
refers to other people as well that have reached some success in their live and
worked really hard to reach it. Intelligent is also a baby who does something
in addition to other babies in the same age, which impresses their parents and
so on. In regards with the multiple intelligences though, we were taught that
it focuses the intelligence and also interests into a main focus by leaving
into some ‘dark’ let’s say, some of the other fields that cause a less interest
into our profession or in our area of study.
Personally, I know that my interests are focused on the
below intelligences;
1.
Linguistic
2.
Mathematical/logical intelligences
3.
Musical and rhythmic
4.
Interpersonal
5. Existential.
Thanks to Gardner we are now able to decipher among them and
also to get to know them better.
Regarding logical or mathematical interests, I do believe
that it is a very essential for getting to know things from other perspectives
in order to allow us to be more critical while solving problems, calculating
and putting logic on first hand.
Simultaneously it is combined with the existential focus
since I prefer being critical and referring with scrutiny by leaving the superficial
view aside.
Furthermore, I do consider myself relied on the
interpersonal area with interests in other people and getting to know their world
by molding a tight relationship in leadership or while getting along with
others. As a counterpart I would say that my intelligence is really focused considerably
into linguistic and musical since I do believe also they are related to
one another and that is why we are having a strong bond and passion when
concerning our area of study.
They are closely related to teaching since we cannot do or stand alone without having those skills. What teaching represents is a great deal of learning each and every day more which would strengthen our skills, concentrate them into the most preferred and appealing ones by making us talented. This is something we should enhance in our future, motivating our students, letting them know that they can succeed on what appears with more interest into their eyes and by doing such we are completing our duty, as a good teacher, motivator and supporter of successful and talented generation.
All in all I think that the real virtue is containing this hidden competence and admitting the gift we have to learn and attain more, which is something incredible. Promoting good vibes and counting on their power, teachers and students can lead a perfect and fruitful relation on making things better by accomplishing the real mission.
Howdy, miss.Personally speaking, your posts always bring us good food.I like the fact that you try to come up with the topic from a personal perspective.Besides, you are absolutely right when you say that intelligence does not mean only one thing, but expands in other things. THANKS! NICE WORK.
